Your Nav Bar Here

8,392

I feel a little lame for admitting this, but yesterday I wore a pedometer - on my belt loop, haha!  I know it may not have been the best example of my activity level (on Tuesday Chicago had a major snow storm), since I was in 5 lb. sorel snow boots and I was avoiding the outdoors on my lunch hour.  BUT, I am happy to report that (without adding extra trips to the bathroom or cheating by walking around the 45th floor a bunch of times) on an average working desk-job-kinda-day I get 8,392 steps in.  And I took the contraption off at 7p because John and I were having our friend Julia over.

Feeling not so sedentary afterall!

All I need to do is add a little lunch hour trip around the block and maybe a walk after dinner and HELLO HEALTHY!

I've been pretty inspired by this guy right here:

My dad!  He was recently telling me that he had gained a bit of weight and then listed off a few changes he made to get back in shape - the pedometer was one of them.  He has a daily "step" goal and cuts out soda.  He's almost right back to where he needs to be, I'm so proud of him!  It's amazing what being aware of the little things can do to keep you healthy.

So here's to one of the healthiest 51 year olds I know (soon to be 52).

Maybe I'll set a 3-month goal (like walk to California or something) and then my reward could be these?!

Had to get my shoe fix in somewhere...

Getting Through Today

It's that time of year where winter seems a little too long and I finally get sick of having brown hair.  I'm in serious need of some Vitamin D!  Until it starts feeling a bit like spring out there, I'm going to remember when we were tan:

HUBBA - HUBBA to that husband of mine, right?! Time to extend that weekend feeling with MORE Michael (for some reason everywhere we went the airwaves were pumping MJ music):

Dreaming of San Francisco

Remember this babe of a bride?  Well, we are getting super close to her wedding date (April 20th)!  After a week of travel logistics, I'm ready to shop a little for these upcoming days in the sun warmer temperatures!

A short list of things I'd love to pack (that doesn't include my cutie mint green b-maid dress):

Ban.do mini poms in hot pink

Dyed Skinny Ankle Jeans via  J. Crew Factory

Duet Mini Wedges via Madewell

Geo Necklace in Mint via Poketo

Butter London Nail Lacquer in Tea with the Queen

Printed Oxfords by Dolce Vita

Neon Lace Panel Sweatshirt via Anthropologie

Gatsby Sunnies via Free People

Floral Crossbody by Sloane Ranger

This whole thing got started by all of my adorable study abroad friends and I deciding to book an apartment stay for the trip instead of a hotel.  With John tacked on, there are about 8 of us that will be in California for the nuptials and we are making a full-on trip out of this. Utilizing the website Airbnb, we decided on this gorgeous 3BR space in the Mission District:

We plan to make a big family dinner one night, go on a Sonoma wine tour, and enjoy all the festivities of the wedding together as a big group.  These people are seriously the best --- we met in 2007 in Viterbo Italy and remain as close as ever.  So here's to Angela, Emily, Lyndon, Sam, Joe, Edgar, and of course ANNI...I'm looking so forward to these 5 days!  You are my favorite!

Kiss This Week Goodbye!

Hoping you were able to stay cozy this week!  Are you excited for the Oscars on Sunday evening?  John and I saw several of the nominated movies and I've gotta tell you that Christoph Waltz had better win Best Supporting Actor!

Here are a few things that inspired me this week from around the web:

Kendi styled the cutest maxi skirt and sweater combo over at Kendi Everyday

Is anybody else dying to take a Blogshop class with Bri from Design Love Fest?  I'd give anything for one of those little goodie bags she so artfully puts together!

A Beautiful Mess visits Chicago - and my favorite doughnut shop Glazed & Infused!

This pen is a fortune, but a stunner in rose gold...

Wow - Eat Drink Chic has the prettiest accessory roundup, all those colors make me so happy.

I want to share a print from fab designer Lauren Hom, she is the genius behind a project called Daily Dishonesty.  You can pick up prints, t-shirts, and other goodies with her lovely illustrations on them: here.  Everytime I see her work it makes me chuckle...this one hits especially hard:

Enjoy your weekend xo.
