Cozy Wooded Wedding

I had the pleasure of attending a lovely little wedding this past weekend and I thought I would share some of the sweet details!

My dear old friend Ryan married his college sweetheart Lindsey at Barber & Oberwortmann Horticultural Center in Joliet, Illinois.  This was a woodsy wedding filled with live greenery - the bride looked like a glowing pixie full of smiles (her dress was STUNNING - if I get a designer name for you, I will update).

The ceremony was held in a wooded grove with lanterns and tissue paper poms hanging from the trees - his uncle even played folk music from the movie Juno for the processional!

To play off the attached greenhouse and the surrounding forest preserve, the bride kept with wooded decor complete with baby trees at some of the guest tables:

She utilized a wood burner to burn their initials into bark covered pots.  She planted the assortment of wildflowers herself (what a crafty gal!):

Table numbers were clearly displayed:

The couple offered live potted plants to guests that served both as seating cards and little favors:

The cake table had bunting and a baby burlap runner:

Just look at those cascading fondent leaves!

Burlap wrapped lights added atmosphere to the dining room:

Guestbook?  Why not have guests sign individual leaves and make a keepsake tree!

It was a lovely wedding for two lovely friends!  Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Bell, a lifetime of laughter and happiness is ahead of you (and some shenanigans with us!).  It was inspiring to be a guest at your wedding...

The first dance was to a song that always tugs my heart strings!

*Keep your eyes open for a woodsy wedding buying guide later this week!
